Relatively new, founded in 2004, Serenbe is a wellness community and an example of “new urbanism”. The town’s name is derived from the words “serenity” and “to be'', which hints at the type of lifestyle its residents enjoy. Residences with front porches but no backyards that all face a shared green space is the model for Serenbe. Close proximity to shops, restaurants, and services promote walking and cycling. Serenbe Farms, the community’s full service garden, complete with llamas and goats, provides its residents and restaurants alike with fresh, locally and organically grown vegetables and products. Farm to Table dining is a specialty of Serenbe’s favorite dining spots: The Farmhouse and The Hill.
