Neighborhood
Summerhill
Summerhill is one of the most up and coming areas of downtown, located on the southside of Atlanta, sandwiched between Zoo Atlanta and Center Parc Stadium. Built on the site of the Olympic Stadium that held the 1996 opening and closing ceremonies, Summerhill is an organic development that’s focused on preservation and rehabilitation. Planning has been designed to make the neighborhood extremely walkable and bikeable for residents and visitors alike. Nearby attractions include Zoo Atlanta, which is home to over 1,400 animals, including the country’s only pair of giant panda twins, and Center Parc Stadium, home field to the Georgia State Panthers. Georgia Avenue is the heart and soul of Summerhill, housing most of the restaurants and brewers, including Hero Doughnuts & Buns, Little Bear, and Junior’s Pizza.
